Saturday night’s UFC “Fight Night” card has been reduced to 10 fights after the departure of Eryk Anders versus Antonio Arroyo from the card. The fight was scheduled to happen from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Anders announced his withdrawal from the fight on Saturday morning, stating health issues as the reason for pulling out.
“I am recovering and look forward to getting back to action ASAP. Thank you everyone for your love and support,” said Anders via Twitter.
The fight is the third to be cancelled for Saturday’s event. On Friday, news broke that a bout between Julian Marques and Saparbeg Safarov was scrapped from the card.
A previous main event between Rafael dos Anjos and Islam Makhachev was thrown out of the window earlier in the week. That fight was salvaged, however, as Paul Felder stepped in on a week’s notice to take a main event against dos Anjos.
Because of the cancelled bout, Saturday’s preliminary card was moved to a start time of 5:00PM EST (2:00PM PST). Here’s the updated card.
