UFC 255: Mauricio Rua vs. Paul Craig Play-by-Play

The UFC 255 main card kicked off with a rematch between Mauricio Rua and Paul Craig. Their light heavyweight fight went like this.

Bout 8: Mauricio Rua (27-11-1) vs. Paul Craig (13-4-1) (Light Heavyweight)

Craig started the fight with kicks to the leg and body of Rua. Rua landed a left cross a minute into the fight. Craig scored a double leg takedown in the second minute of the round, landing on top in half guard. Rua got back up to his feet in the third minute. Craig took the fight back down while looking for a choke. They returned to the feet with two minutes to go in the round. Craig scored another takedown in the fourth minute, taking the back of Rua while he was on one knee. Rua was able to get Craig off of his back, taking half guard on top after. Rua landed strikes from half guard before the round ran out of time.

Rua connected with a two-punch combination in the first minute of the second round. Craig shot for a takedown in the second minute of the fight after Rua landed some punches on the feet. Craig was able to eventually finish his takedown, getting on the back of Rua. Rua was able to return to the feet in the third minute of the round, although Craig kept the pressure on him, putting him against the cage. Craig scored another takedown in the fourth minute of the round, hopping on the back of Rua again. Craig started to let punches to the head go as Rua was flattened out on the ground. He continued with punches until Rua tapped out.

RESULT: Paul Craig def. Mauricio Rua via TKO, Tap Out (RD 2, 3:36)
