A UFC Bantamweight Championship fight between Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling has been removed from UFC’s December 12th pay-per-view and moved to February, per a report from MMA Island.
While it isn’t clear what exactly took the fight off the card, it seemingly isn’t an injury. A report from Damon Martin and Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting says Yan had to withdraw due to “personal reasons.”
Yan earned the UFC Bantamweight Championship in July, defeating Jose Aldo in the fifth round with strikes. Yan has been undefeated in his UFC run, now with seven wins in total.
Sterling has been on a win streak as well, having picked up five-straight victories from 2018 to present. His last fight was in June, where he stopped Cory Sandhagen in the first round with a rear naked choke.
