A light heavyweight fight between Anthony Smith and Devin Clark has been promoted to main event status for UFC’s “Fight Night” card on Saturday. With this, the fight has been moved from three rounds to five despite the short-notice change.
The fight will take place from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
The change comes after a positive COVID-19 test removed Curtis Blaydes from his heavyweight main event against Derek Lewis.
While his original plan was to be in the co-main, it will now be Smith’s seventh consecutive main event fight. Five of the previous six main events were booked for five rounds in total.
The fight will be Clark’s first five-round fight since entering the UFC. His first five-round fight was in 2016, where he defeated Rafael Viana on an RFA card. The fight only went two rounds.
