Dos Santos put Day against the cage early in a clinch after throwing wild punches at him. Dos Santos scored a takedown in the third minute of the round, landing in half guard. Day was able to get out of the position in the final minute of the round and score his own takedown, although dos Santos put in a guillotine choke from the bottom that made Day tap out.
