Marvin Vettori and Jack Hermansson Given UFC ‘Fight of the Night’ Award For Five-Round Main Event

Middleweight fighters Marvin Vettori and Jack Hermansson were given “Fight of the Night” awards after their five-round battle in the main event of UFC’s show on Saturday.

Both fighters were awarded an extra $50,000 on top of their previously negotiated fight purses for the fight, which headlined a card from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

The 25-minute fight saw a high output of strikes from both fighters throughout. Vettori was given the win in the end with a unanimous decision. The win for Vettori was the first time in his career that he had fought for 25 minutes.

“Performance of the Night” bonuses were also given to Gabriel Benitez and Jordan Leavitt for their respective wins on the card.

Benitez finished his fight in the fifth minute of action, dropping Justin Jaynes with a knee to the body to cause a stoppage. Benitez snapped a two-fight skid with the win.

Leavitt had an explosive UFC debut on the card, defeating Matt Wiman with a slam knockout in the first minute of action. The win was Leavitt’s fourth in the year, with some of his previous wins taking place in LFA and “Dana White’s Contender Series.”
