Nathias Frederick Scores Third-Round Knockout Against Jamie Richardson To Defend Cage Warriors Belt

Nathias Frederick delivered an explosive two-punch combination to knock out Jamie Richardson and defend his Cage Warriors Middleweight Championship for the first time on Friday. The fight headlined the Cage Warriors 118 card from the York Hall in London, England.

Frederick’s two-hook combination in the third round caused Richardson to faceplant, immediately making the referee intervene and stop the fight.

Previous rounds in the fight showed close striking battles where both fighters landed shots. Frederick seemingly had trouble throughout the fight, often slipping on the canvas while moving around.

Tensions seemingly boiled over at points in the fight, as Frederick charged at Richardson for a moment after the second round concluded. Despite this, Frederick was cordial after his win and even apologetic for a legal follow-up shot that happened in the finish.

Frederick’s knockout win was his first appearance since he stopped James Webb to claim the belt in 2019.

Richardson earned his title shot after three-straight Cage Warriors victories from 2018 to 2020.

Damiani Wins Short Notice Cage Warriors Debut Against Khalid

Leonardo Damiani won his Cage Warriors debut in the co-main event, defeating Aaron Khalid in a split decision.

Damiani took the fight on short notice, stepping in for Justin Burlinson. Damiani had competed in November, defeating Abdul Sami Wali Fayzi on a Parus FC card.

Khalid had a quick win in his last appearance, defeating Mick Stanton in only 28 seconds in September.

Bonner Gets Decision Win Over Returning Inman

Matt Bonner got the nod after a back-and-forth battle on the card against Matt Inman.

Bonner came into the fight with the momentum of a stoppage win over George Smith in September.

The fight was Inman’s return to action after being absent from the cage from 2017. Having lost the first two rounds, Inman put together a respectable final round by landing a large amount of strikes.

Fleminas Takes Decision Win Over Stanton

Madars Fleminas got back on the right track on Friday, taking a decision win against Mick Stanton. The fight was crucial for both fighters as they had not won recently.

Both fighters entered the fight after struggling earlier in the year, losing two bouts each in the promotion.

McAleenan Earns Comeback Victory With Rear Naked Choke

Decky McAleenan made a comeback to pick up a win on the main card, defeating Adam Ventre with a rear naked choke in the second round. The finish came after Ventre controlled most of the first round on the ground.

McAleenan has now won two consecutive fights. His previous fight, his first Cage Warriors win since 2017, saw him defeat Antanas Jazbutis on scorecards.
