Returning after a main event loss earlier in the year, Marlon Moraes fought Rob Font on Saturday’s UFC card. Their bantamweight fight went like this.
Bout 9: Marlon Moraes (23-7-1) vs. Rob Font (17-4) (Bantamweight)
Moraes was quick to score a takedown in the fight, taking half guard. Moraes turned to his back, where he looked for a guillotine choke. Font was able to get to his feet after escaping the choke. Moraes slammed Font down in the second minute of the round. Moraes moved into side control in the third minute of the round. Font got to the feet in the fourth minute, although he was wobbled by a head kick shortly after getting up. Moraes got rocked on the feet, allowing Font to hit him with a three-punch combo. Fonto dropped Moraes in the fourth minute with an uppercut. Font landed hammerfist punches from full guard that eventually caused the referee to stop the fight.
RESULT: Rob Font def. Marlon Moraes via TKO, Strikes (RD 1, 3:47)
