Flashy welterweights Michel Pereira and Khaos Williams fought on Saturday’s UFC “Fight Night” card. Here’s how their fight went.
Bout 10: Michel Pereira (24-11) vs. Khaos Williams (11-1) (Welterweight)
The fight started slow as both fighters attempted to figure each other out. Williams caught a leg kick in the third minute, countering with a right hand. He was able to counter with the same exchange a minute later. Pereira landed a knee to the body in the clinch with Williams in the final minute.
The slow-paced striking battle carried into the second round. saw Williams clinched with Pereira after charging at him with numerous punches. Pereira took the back of Williams late in the round while attempting a rear naked choke.
The fighters engaged with quick and close striking exchanges on the feet. Pereira scored a takedown in the fourth minute of the final round. He took side control on top. Williams was able to get back to his feet before the final minute of the round. Pereira scored another takedown with 30 seconds to go. Pereira landed some punches from full guard before the round ran out of time. Pereira was given the win after three rounds (29-28, 29-28 & 29-28).
