A previously cancelled fight between Brian Kelleher and Ricky Simon is being given another shot, as it is now booked for UFC’s February 13th pay-per-view event, UFC 258. First reported by Sergio Pineiro of Bloody Canvas, the bantamweight pairing will be booked for the third time.
The fight joins a card that is set to happen at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Kelleher and Simon were first meant to meet at UFC’s first event of 2021, although the bout was cancelled after Kelleher tested positive for COVID-19.
A fight between the bantamweights was also attempted in September. That time, a positive COVID-19 test to a cornerman of Simon caused the fight to get thrown out.
Kelleher still competed on that September card, defeating short-notice opponent Ray Rodriguez within a minute with a guillotine choke. Kelleher bounced back from a decision loss to Cody Stamann that he took in June.
