Both in a potential must-win position, Zarrukh Adashev and Ryan Benoit have been matched for UFC’s May 8th “Fight Night” card. The flyweight pairing was first reported by Nolan King and John Morgan of MMA Junkie.
The fight joins a UFC card that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
Both fighters will attempt to resist going on a three-fight win streak.
Benoit is already on the longest losing streak of his career, as decision losses to Alatengheili and Tim Elliott have made him winless since his return to the cage. Benoit has been a part of the UFC roster since 2013, having competed within the promotion eight times now.
Adashev is still in search of his first UFC victory. The former kickboxer entered the UFC in June, taking a short-notice fight against Tyson Nam. The fight resulted in Nam stopping Adashev within a minute with strikes.
Adashev went the distance in his last bout, losing on scorecards to Su Mudaerji in January.
The only other fight being planned for UFC’s May 8th event currently is a fight between UFC veterans Donald Cerrone and Diego Sanchez.
