UFC is looking to book ranked flyweights Katlyn Chookagian and Viviane Araujo for their May 15th event. News of the potential matchup was first reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
Should the fight be booked, it will join a lineup that does not have a confirmed location yet.
The bout is a quick turnaround for both fighters after recently adding another win to their records.
Araujo earned a win last month, defeating Roxanne Modafferi via unanimous decision. The victory put Araujo on a two-fight win streak, giving the flyweight her fourth win since entering the UFC roster in 2019.
Chookagian returned to the win column in November, defeating Cynthia Calvillo on scorecards. Just one month earlier, Chookagian was stopped within a round by Jessica Andrade.
Chookagian had a busy 2020, fighting four times and earning two wins.
