UFC’s February 27th event has been limited to 10 bouts in total after UFC newcomer Ramazan Kuramagomedov withdrew from his bout against Alex Oliveira due to illness. News of the cancelled bout was first reported by Alexander K. Lee and Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting.
The fight was scheduled to take place during UFC’s preliminary card at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Kuramagomedov was being positioned as someone who could save Oliveira’s spot on the card. The welterweight had to find a new opponent earlier in the month after Randy Brown had to pull out of their fight.
Kuramagomedov’s UFC debut will have to wait. He was looking to enter the promotion after stringing together an eight-fight win streak as a pro.
Oliveira’s last bout was in October, where he lost via submission to Shavkat Rakhmonov.
UFC’s February 27th card is set to have heavyweights Ciryl Gane and Jairzinho Rozenstruick compete in the main event.
