Cheyanne Buys has been given a new opponent for her March 20th UFC debut, as she is now being paired with former Invicta FC fighter Montserrat Ruiz. The new matchup was confirmed by MMA Fighting on Friday.
The fight joins a card that is expected to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Buys was originally scheduled to fight Kay Hansen, although that fight was scrapped recently.
Buys enters the UFC after picking up a win against Hilarie Rose on “Dana White’s Contender Series” last year. The win was her fourth consecutive victory as a pro.
Ruiz makes the transition to the UFC after two fights in Invicta FC. Her last bout was in July, where she submitted Janaisa Morandin within a round with a keylock.
