LFA announced the full lineup for LFA 102 on Wednesday, unveiling that promotional veterans Bruno Souza and Elijah Johns will headline an eight-fight card from the Grand Casino Hotel & Resort in Shawnee, Oklahoma, USA. The fights are scheduled to take place on March 19th and will be streamed through UFC Fight Pass.
Souza and Johns are being paired up after putting together extensive win streaks in the promotion through recent years.
Johns is currently on a five-fight win streak in the promotion. He last added to that streak in October, where he defeated Luke Faultersack in a unanimous decision performance.
Souza has been undefeated since losing his pro debut in 2016. He had a stoppage victory in his last showing, finishing Guilherme Santos with strikes in November.
Middleweight Tournament To Continue
LFA’s four-man middleweight bracket will continue in the co-main event, as Gregory Rodrigues will face Al Matavao in a three-round fight. The winner of the bout will go on to face Josh Fremd, who punched his ticket into the finals earlier in the year. The finals of the bracket will see the middleweights compete to become an LFA champion.
Rodrigues was originally meant to compete in the bracket last month against Anthony Adams. That plan later fell through, and how he is booked against Matavao. He will be returning after a loss, as he dropped a bout to Jordan Williams on “Dana White’s Contender Series” last year. Before then, Rodrigues had a six-fight win streak on the regional scene.
Like Rodrigues, Matavao is returning after a “Contender Series” loss, as he was finished by Tafon Nchukwi on a September episode of the show. Matavao will be making his LFA debut after a pro career that includes numerous stoppage victories.
A total of eight fights are booked for LFA 102. Here is how the lineup looks currently.
