UFC Looking To Book Amanda Ribas vs. Angela Hill For May 8th Event

UFC is currently in the process of making a strawweight fight between Amanda Ribas and Angela Hill for May 8th, per reports. The fight hasn’t been finalized, but it has been verbally agreed upon by both parties, as first reported by Guilherme Cruz and Damon Martin of MMA Fighting.

Should the fight be made official, it would join a UFC “Fight Night” card that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.

The fight would give Ribas a chance to bounce back from her sole UFC loss. The rising 27-year-old had her win streak snapped in January by Marina Rodriguez, who stopped her in the second round of a fight with strikes.

Ribas was rapidly gaining momentum prior to then. The biggest win of her five-fight UFC career was in the summer, as she submitted promotional vet Paige VanZant in the first round with an armbar.

Hill snapped a two-fight skid with her last bout, putting together a dominant performance over Ashley Yoder for a decision win in March. Her two previous matches were close losses, dropping split decisions to Michelle Waterson and Claudia Gadelha.

Bantamweights Cory Sandhagen and TJ Dillashaw were recently reported as the headliners for UFC’s May 8th lineup. Here is how the card looks with the potential strawweight bout in the lineup as well.
