UFC veteran Andrei Arlovski has taken the place of Parker Porter in an April 17th fight against Chase Sherman, per a report from David Van Auken of Fight Bananas.
Arlovski comes into the bout as a short-notice fill-in on just a weeks notice. The fight is currently set to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Arlovski is getting a relatively quick turnaround in the fight, competing just two months after suffering a submission loss to Tom Aspinall. Arlovski had previously scored two UFC wins in 2020, defeating Tanner Boser and Philipe Lins.
The bout will be Sherman’s first since he made his return to the UFC last year. Sherman started his second UFC run in May of 2020, defeating Ike Villanueva in the second round of a bout with strikes. He had competed outside of the promotion for two years prior to that, attaining three MMA wins along with bouts in bare-knuckle boxing.
It is not known currently why Porter withdrew from the bout. The 35-year-old was looking to return after picking up his first UFC win late last year, defeating Josh Parisian on scorecards.
