Rising welterweight prospect Miguel Baeza will get his fourth UFC assignment when facing Santiago Ponzinibbio on June 5th. News of the welterweight matchup was first reported by Marcelo Barone of Combate.
The fight joins a “Fight Night” card that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
Baeza has had a strong UFC run since entering the promotion in 2019. The 28-year-old has finished all three of his appearances in the promotion thus far. He fought twice last year, stopping veteran Matt Brown and fellow prospect Takashi Sato.
Ponzinibbio will be competing for the second time since making his return to action this year. The Argentinian talent ended an extended absence from the cage in January with a fight against Li Jingliang. The bout didn’t go his way, as Li stopped him in the first round with strikes. The bout was Ponzinibbio’s first loss since 2015, as he entered the bout on a seven-fight win streak.
