Costello van Steenis has been forced out of his May 7th Bellator fight against Lorenz Larkin due to injury, per a report from Splinta Jackson of Dutch Fight Network.
The fight was set to take place during the preliminary card of Bellator 258 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA.
Bellator is currently looking to find a new opponent for Larkin, per the promotion’s president.
“We’re in the process of booking Lorenz [Larkin] another fight. We’ll know today or tomorrow if that’s gonna happen,” said Bellator President Scott Coker during a press conference on Wednesday.
Van Steenis was looking to return after scoring a split decision win against Fabian Edwards in the fall.
Larkin is currently on a four-fight win streak in Bellator. He last fought over a year ago, where he defeated former UFC fighter Keita Nakamura on scorecards.
Bellator 258 is currently set to be headlined by bantamweight champion Juan Archuleta and former UFC fighter Sergio Pettis.
