PFL’s lightweight and featherweight roster will return for the second time this year when competing at the promotion’s June 10th event. The lineup for the card, which includes 11 fights in total now, is currently set to be headlined by former UFC fighter Anthony Pettis and undefeated lightweight Alexander Martinez.
The event will take place at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA, the venue that PFL is using as their bubble amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pettis’ PFL debut earlier this year resulted in a loss, as Clay Collard scored a decision win over him. The fight snapped a two-fight win streak that Pettis had earned in the UFC before coming over to PFL.
Collard is also set to appear on the card, fighting Joilton Lutterbach on the prelims.
Martinez scored his first PFL win earlier this year, defeating Loik Radzhabov via split decision.
A fighter who scored an upset win in April, Bubba Jenkins, will return in a fight against Anthony Dizy. Jenkins became the first fighter since 2017 to defeat Lance Palmer, taking a scorecard win over him. The fight was also his first appearance for the PFL. Dizy took a loss in his last appearance, losing to Chris Wade.
The third and final main card bout from PFL’s season format is set to see Brendan Loughnane face Tyler Diamond in a featherweight fight. Both competitors enter the bout after picking up wins in their first bout of the season.
Loughnane was one of the sole fighters to score a stoppage win on his card in April, finishing Sheymon Moraes within a round with strikes. Diamond’s win came earlier on that card, where he defeated former UFC fighter Jo Sungbin.
While it wasn’t noted in PFL’s announcement Thursday, the MMA debut of boxing champion Claressa Sheilds is also set to take place on the card against Brittney Elkin.
The prelims include many names that appeared at the first PFL event this year. Along with them are fighters like Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Arman Ospanov, who will be making their promotional debut.
