Melissa Gatto will get her UFC debut at the promotion’s August 7th pay-per-view card, facing former Invicta FC fighter Victoria Leonardo in a flyweight contest. The matchup was broken earlier in the week by Raphael Marinho of Combate.
The bout joins UFC 265, which does not have a location attached to it at the moment.
UFC has been looking to give Gatto her promotional debut since 2019, although they have struggled to get a fight together due to injuries and travel restrictions.
Gatto enters the UFC with an undefeated record that includes six wins and two draws.
Her opponent, Leonardo, is getting the fight after losing her UFC debut earlier this year. Her first appearance was in January, where Manon Fiorot stopped her in the second round
Leonardo’s UFC contract was secured just months before with a stoppage win against Chelsea Hackett on “Dana White’s Contender Series.” Before then, she had built up a record in regional promotion Invicta FC.
