Two new matchups have been recently reported for UFC’s September 4th pay-per-view event. The new fights are set to happen at UFC 266, which does not have a confirmed location currently.
Undefeated Medic To Face Turner
Returning after a strong UFC debut, Uros Medic will fight Jalin Turner in September. The fight was first reported by Alfredo Zullino of BJPenn.com, and has since been confirmed by Nolan King of MMA Junkie.
Medic won his UFC debut in March, needing less than two minutes to stop Aalon Cruz with strikes. The fight came after Medic scored a stoppage win on “Dana White’s Contender Series” to earn his UFC contract last year.
Turner will look to move his win streak to three-in-a-row with a win in September. Turner last appeared in September of 2020, where he caught Brok Weaver with a rear naked choke in the second round.
Blanchfield To Debut Against Alpar
Both looking for their first UFC win, Erin Blanchfield and Sarah Alpar will compete at UFC 266, per a report from Nolan King of MMA Junkie.
The fight will be Blanchfield’s first in the UFC cage. She enters the promotion after picking up three wins in regional promotions like Invicta FC and CFFC.
Blanchfield was first set to make her UFC debut in April, although it was cancelled after her opponent, Norma Dumont, missed weight for their fight by a significant amount.
Alpar will be returning after losing her UFC debut in the fall to Jessica-Rose Clark. Alpar was finished in the final minute of the fight by strikes.
It was previously reported that the main event of UFC 266 will be between UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira. As it stands currently, that fight is the only other bout in the card that has been already reported.
