A middleweight fight between Sean Strickland and Uriah Hall has been moved from UFC 265 to a July 31st “Fight Night” card, promoting it to five rounds. The change in status for the fight was first reported by Ariel Helwani of ESPN.
The fight is now the main event of a card that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
The fight will be Strickland’s first main event fight since joining the UFC roster in 2014. He is getting the fight after a short yet strong win streak that he has built up in recent months. He has won three times since making his return in October.
His last fight bout was in May, where he defeated Krzysztof Jotko via unanimous decision.
Hall has also built up a win streak in recent years, having won his last four bouts. His last fight ended in tragic fashion, as opponent Chris Weidman suffered major injuries to one of his legs just seconds into their bout.
Hall’s previous outing saw him stop former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva in the fourth round of a bout with strikes.
Here is how UFC’s July 31st event looks with a new main event.
