Undefeated flyweight Askar Askarov is set to meet fellow ranked UFC fighter Alex Perez at the promotion’s July 31st card, per a report from Cole Shelton of BJPenn.com.
The matchup joins a card that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
Askarov is currently on a three-fight win streak in the flyweight division. Among the victories is a recent decision win against two-time title challenger Joseph Benavidez, who he beat via unanimous decision in March.
Askarov’s pro record has 13 wins through 14 appearances, with the other bout ending in a draw.
Perez will be making his first appearance after losing a title fight to Deiveson Figueiredo last year. The quick bout ended in the second minute, as Figueiredo concluded a dominant performance with a guillotine choke.
Perez entered the bout on a three-fight win streak that he attained in 2019 and 2020.
