Strawweight Sam Hughes will get the chance to snap a two-fight losing streak when facing Lupita Godinez at UFC’s October 9th card. News of the new matchup was first reported by Mike Heck of MMA Fighting on Saturday.
Hughes and Godinez are the first fighters to be reported for an October 9th event. The location for their fight is not known at the moment.
Hughes has lost two bouts since joining the UFC roster late last year. She made her promotional debut in December, stepping in on short notice to fight Tecia Torres. That fight concluded after a round due to doctor stoppage.
She has since competed again, losing a unanimous decision to Loma Lookboonmee in May.
Godinez will be fighting to bounce back from losing her UFC debut. The former LFA Strawweight Champion had her undefeated record taken earlier this year, as the returning Jessica Penne earned a split decision victory over her.
