A couple of matchups have joined the growing lineup for UFC’s October 2nd card. The new fights join a show that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
Dawson Looks To Continue Campaign Against Ferreira
Grant Dawson will attempt to continue his undefeated UFC run when fighting Diego Ferreira in October, per a report from Farah Hannoun and Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie.
Dawson has yet to lose since joining the UFC roster in early 2019. He scored his fifth consecutive win in the promotion earlier this year, stopping Leonardo Santos late in the first round.
Ferreira will be fighting to snap a two-bout losing streak. The 36-year-old lightweight has appeared twice this year, losing to Beneil Dariush and Gregor Gillespie. Before then, he had attained six-straight wins in the UFC.
Padilla To Make UFC Debut Against Soriano
Former Fury FC Featherweight Champion Fernando Padilla will make his UFC debut in October, fighting Sean Soriano at 145-pounds. News of the fight was first broken by Carlos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN Deportes.
Padilla became a champion in his last fight, defeating Cameron Graves on a Fury FC card just two months back. The fight was his second win already this year, as he scored a split decision victory over Nate Richardson on an LFA card in February.
Soriano kicked off his second UFC run earlier this year, losing via submission to Christos Giagos. The bout was Soriano’s first appearance in the UFC since 2015, and he was entering the promotion after scoring three consecutive wins on the regional scene.
