Rising heavyweight Carlos Felipe will get his biggest test yet when facing veteran Andrei Arlovski at UFC’s October 16th card. The new matchup was first revealed by Felipe during an interview with Canal Encarada earlier this week.
The new matchup joins a card that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
Felipe has been active since joining the UFC a year ago, having already competed four times. The 26-year-old started his promotional run with a loss but has since scored three consecutive decision victories. That includes a fight from last month, where he went to a split decision against Jake Collier.
He now fights Arlovski, who has competed at a high level in MMA for over two decades.
Arlovski is on somewhat of a run himself, having won three of his last four bouts. After being submitted by Tom Aspinall earlier this year, Arlovski bounced back in April with a decision victory over Chase Sherman.
UFC’s October 16th show does not have a main event currently. Here are the fights that have been booked for it thus far.

Bout 2: Maryna Moroz (10-3) vs. Luana Carolina (7-2) (Flyweight)
