Bellator has parted ways with 18 fighters as of late, per a report from Nolan King of MMA Junkie. The long list of fighters includes former title challengers and veterans along with prospects and some athletes who never made their promotional debut.
Daniel Straus, Bec Rawlings, Tywan Claxton, Heather Hardy, John Macapa, Khonry Gracie, Liam McGeary, Tyree Fortune, Alessio Sakara, Amanda Bell, Chuck Campbell, Demarques Jackson, Dominic Mazzotta, Olga Rubin, Kirill Sidelnikov, Mike Jasper, Steve MacDonald and Ryan Spillane are no longer part of the roster, per the report.
Most notable on the list is Straus, who fought in Bellator consistently since 2012 and challenged for their featherweight belt twice. He has been inactive since 2019, with his last fight being a loss to Derek Campos.
Straus was arrested earlier this year and charged with aggravated battery.
Five fighters on the list have competed for Bellator recently, with their last appearance resulting in a loss. Those fighters are Claxton, Macapa, Gracie, Fortune, Bell and Jackson.
The list includes nine fighters that have competed in Bellator before but have been out of the cage for over a year. That includes McGeary, Rawlings, Hardy, Sakara, Campbell, Mazzotta, Rubin, Sidelnikov and Jasper.
MacDonald and Spillane never fought in Bellator before parting ways with the promotion.
