Daniel Rodriguez is facing a new opponent on short notice, as he has been matched with Preston Parsons for UFC’s July 17th event. The matchup comes after Abubakar Nurmagomedov withdrew from their matchup due to undisclosed reasons.
The new matchup was first reported by MMA Island on Friday. It joins a “Fight Night” card that is set to happen at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Parsons enters the UFC with a pro record of nine wins and two losses. He is currently on a four-fight winning streak which includes a submission win over Jeff Peterson from just last month.
One of the two losses in Parsons’ pro career came against now-UFC fighter Mike Perry.
Perry is the last opponent that Rodriguez beat, as he scored a decision victory over him in April. The bout put Rodriguez back into the win column after Nicolas Dalby handed him a loss last year.
