Deron Winn has been forced out of his July 17th UFC fight against Phil Hawes due to a rib injury, per a report from Brett Okamoto of ESPN. The fight has already been rescheduled, now being expected to take place on October 9th.
The new location for the fight is not known at the moment.
The change knocks Saturday’s UFC card down to 11 bouts in total. The show is expected to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, and be headlined by lightweights Islam Makhachev and Thiago Moises.
Now with a new booking in place, Hawes still has the goal of maintaining his undefeated UFC run. Still a rookie in the promotion, Hawes has picked up a trio of victories since joining the UFC.
Winn snapped a two-fight losing streak in his last appearance, defeating Antonio Arroyo in December.
