While Trevin Jones was previously lined up to face Aaron Phillips earlier this month, he’s now being given a new opponent and a different fight date. Jones is now set to face Ronnie Lawerence at UFC’s July 31st card, per a report from Nolan King and Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie.
The fight joins a card that is expected to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
The matchup is being made after both Jones and Lawrence lost their previous opponents.
Phillips, the previous targeted opponent for Jones reportedly withdrew from his July 24th fight. Ironically, that booking was also made after both Jones and Phillips lost opponents on that card.
Lawrence was originally set to face John Castaneda on July 31st. Now he’s booked against Jones.
Lawrence is coming back after a successful UFC debut earlier this year. the LFA and Bellator vet scored a stoppage victory against Vince Cachero in February, finishing him in the third round with strikes.
Jones also scored his first UFC win in his last appearance, stopping Mario Bautista in the second round with punches.
