Former UFC Fighter Chad Mendes Signs Contract With Bare-Knuckle Promotion

Three-time UFC title challenger Chad Mendes will cross over to another combat sport soon, as he has signed a deal with bare-knuckle boxing promotion BKFC.

BKFC announced the new signing on Wednesday. Damon Martin of MMA Fighting was able to confirm that it is a multi-fight deal between Mendes and the promotion.

“I’m super excited to finally compete in boxing,” said Mendes in an Instagram post on Wednesday. “It’s been something I’ve always wanted to try and I’m pumped it all came together.”

Mendes joins a growing list of former UFC fighters to make the cross-over to bare-knuckle boxing. Other notable names include Paige VanZant, Rachael Ostovich, Chris Leben, Johnny Bedford, Artem Lobov and more.

Mendes fought at a high level of MMA from 2010 to 2018. His career included three championship fights and two other main event appearances.

Mendes retired from MMA in 2018.
