Former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar will continue his recent campaign at bantamweight when facing Marlon Vera at UFC’s November 6th pay-per-view event. The new addition to UFC 268 was first reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
The matchup joins a card that is being planned for Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, USA.
Edgar was on the losing side of a brutal knockout earlier this year, being stopped in just 28 seconds with a flying knee from Cory Sandhagen. The fight was his second bout since moving down to 135-pounds in the previous year.
Edgar’s debut at bantamweight saw him earn a split decision victory over Pedro Munhoz in a five-round main event last year.
Vera will be aiming to earn his second consecutive victory.
The 28-year-old has won three of his last five bouts, including a recent unanimous decision victory win over Davey Grant in June.
UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman is scheduled to headline UFC 268 against Colby Covington. Here is how the card looks at the moment:
Bout 5: Kamaru Usman (19-1) vs. Colby Covington (16-2) (UFC Welterweight Championship)
Bout 4: Justin Gaethje (22-3) vs. Michael Chandler (22-6) (Lightweight)
Bout 3: Sean Strickland (24-3) vs. Luke Rockhold (16-5) (Middleweight)
