Eight-fight UFC veteran Johnny Eduardo has reportedly been released from the promotion’s roster after losing in his return. News of him departing the UFC roster was first reported by Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting.
Eduardo, 41, last fought on October 2nd. He was making his first appearance in over three years when appearing on a “Fight Night” card. He was submitted in the second round of his fight against Alejandro Perez, getting caught with an armbar.
The fight was Eduardo’s third consecutive loss in the UFC. He departs the roster with a promotional record of three wins and five losses.
Eduardo has an extensive MMA record that has mostly taken place outside of the UFC. He turned pro back in 1996 and has spent the majority of his career on the regional scene in Brazil.
Eduardo stated in an interview with MMA Fighting that he intends to continue his MMA career despite parting ways with the UFC.
