Sam Alvey and Ian Heinisch Look To Break Losing Streaks In February 5th UFC Pairing

Fighting for his first win since 2018, veteran Sam Alvey will meet Ian Heinisch at UFC’s February 5th event. The middleweight matchup was first reported by Mike Heck and Damon Martin of MMA Fighting.

The bout joins a UFC event that does not have a confirmed location at the moment. It is the first fight for that date to be reported.

Alvey has gone winless in his last seven UFC appearances. That includes six losses and a draw he took in 2020. He most recently fought in August, where he lost a split decision loss against Wellington Turman.

Alvey has been on the UFC roster since 2014 and has fought in the promotion nearly two dozen times.

While his losing streak has not been nearly as long, Heinisch will also be looking to return to the win column in the fight. He has lost four of his last five appearances and is currently on a two-fight skid.

Heinisch’s two appearances this year have been losses, getting finished by Nassourdine Imavov and losing on scorecards to Kelvin Gastelum.
