UFC’s rapidly growing January 15th card has gained three more bouts recently. The fights join a card that doesn’t have a confirmed location at the moment.
Flashy Middleweights Razak Alhassan and Buckley Collide
Explosive finishers Abdul Razak Alhassan and Joaquin Buckley are expected to meet in January, per mma.ideas on Instagram.
Buckley has attained three wins and two losses since joining the UFC roster last year. He has been a middleweight to watch throughout, as none of his appearances have gone the distance thus far.
Buckley returned to his winning ways last month, picking up a third-round stoppage win over Antonio Arroyo.
Razak Alhassan scored a necessary win in explosive fashion earlier this year, stopping Alessio Di Chirico in just 17 seconds with a head kick. The win broke a three-fight losing streak for him.
Rematch Between Ranked Flyweights Chookagian and Maia Booked
Jennifer Maia will have the chance to avenge a loss when facing Katlyn Chookagian in early 2022. mma.ideas on Instagram broke the matchup first.
Chookagian first met Maia in November 2019, defeating her via unanimous decision at UFC 244.
Chookagian is riding a winning streak heading into their second meeting, as she has defeated Cynthia Calvillo and Viviane Araujo over the past year.
Maia returned to the win column in July, going three rounds with Jessica Eye for a decision win. Her previous fight was a loss to UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko in November.
Former LFA Champ Demopoulos To Face Yoder
Former LFA Strawweight Champion Vanessa Demopoulos will aim to secure her first UFC victory when facing Ashley Yoder. The flyweight matchup was confirmed earlier this week by Jamal Boussenaf of MMA DNA.
Demopoulos lost her UFC debut in August, losing on scorecards to JJ Aldrich. This came after a long career in notable promotion LFA, where she put up five wins through seven appearances.
Yoder will be attempting to snap a two-fight losing streak. Her last fight was in July, where she lost to former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion Jinh Yu Frey.
