UFC’s December 4th card lost a fight on Saturday morning, as COVID-19 protocols forced a fight between Jeremiah Wells and Jake Matthews out of the lineup.
The fight was set to happen Saturday night at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Wells revealed the news on Saturday morning, claiming that the fight was canceled due to a cornerman of his testing positive for COVID-19.
“Thank you to everyone who supported me, helped me with this fight camp and cheer me on,” said Wells via Instagram.
Wells was looking to ride the momentum of a recent UFC debut win over Warlley Alves.
The fight was set to be Matthews’ first appearance since suffering a loss to Sean Brady earlier this year.
Saturday’s UFC card is now set to proceed with 13 bouts in total. Bantamweights Jose Aldo and Rob Font are currently set to headline the card.
