Claudia Gadelha Declares Retirement From MMA

Former UFC title challenger Claudia Gadelha has reportedly retired from MMA.

Gadelha, 33, informed the UFC that she intends to retire from the sport, per a report from Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting.

Gadelha has fought 23 times as a pro. She competed in the UFC from 2014 to 2020, earning seven wins and five losses.

Gadelha most notably challenged Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the UFC Strawweight Championship in 2016, losing via unanimous decision after a five-round battle.

Gadelha’s last fight was a scorecard loss to Yan Xiaonan last year. She had two consecutive wins before then.

Gadelha has yet to publicly comment on her reported retirement, although she has reposted images from others that have sent her messages in support due to the retirement move.
