Ryan Spann vs. Ion Cutelaba Off February 26th UFC Card

UFC’s February 26th show is down a bout, as a fight between Ryan Spann and Ion Cutelaba has been removed from the card. News of the fight’s cancelation was confirmed Thursday by Marcel Dorff of Eurosport after an initial tip by Tom Feely.

The fight was scheduled to happen at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

A report from Damon Martin of MMA Fighting says that the fight was pulled from the lineup due to an injury to Spann. The plan going forward is for this fight to reportedly get pushed ahead to a later date.

Spann’s last appearance was a loss in the main event of a show, getting submitted in the first round by Anthony Smith. Before then, Spann earned a stoppage win over Misha Cirkunov in early 2021.

Cutelaba returned to the win column in his last fight, defeating Devin Clark via unanimous decision in September. He had a rough few fights before then, attaining two losses and one draw between earlier 2021 and 2020.

Lightweights Beneil Dariush and Islam Makhachev are expected to meet in the main event of UFC’s February 26th show.
