ONE Championship has announced a stacked lineup for their February 25th event. “Full Circle” is expected to have 14 bouts in total, with three title fights sitting at the top of the lineup.
Reinier de Ridder will return in the main event, fighting to preserve his undefeated record and defend his 205-pound championship in a fight against fellow champ Kiamrian Abbasov.
De Ridder earned his belt in October 2020, submitting Aung La N Sang in the first round of a fight. He then fought N Sang up a weight class in 2021 to become a two-division champion.
De Ridder has yet to lose through five appearances in ONE Championship.
While fighting to take away de Ridder’s double-champ status, Abbasov will have the chance to claim that title for himself.
Abbasov has been ONE’s 185-pound champ since 2019. He defended his belt for the first time in November 2020, stopping James Nakashima in the fourth round of a bout.
The fight in February will be Abbasov’s first appearance in over a year.
Kickboxing, Muay Thai Belts On The Line
ONE Championship’s kickboxing and Muay Thai divisions will also see championships on the line later this month.
In the co-main event of “Full Circle,” Roman Kryklia and Murat Aygun will fight in a kickboxing title bout. This fight has been booked by ONE twice in the past, although it has been pulled from cards in the past and never come to fruition.
Kryklia will be fighting to defend his belt for the second time. His last appearance saw him go five rounds against Andrei Stoica for a decision victory.
Aygun is getting the title shot after winning his ONE debut in 2020 against Anderson Braddock Silva.
Muay Thai champ Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy will face Jamal Yusupov on the main card as well.
Petchmorakot’s last ONE appearance was a 2020 stoppage win over Magnus Andersson. He has remained active in combat sports since then, competing frequently in boxing and Muay Thai.
Yusupov is being placed in a title fight position after scoring two wins in ONE’s Muay Thai ruleset.
La N Sang vs. Bigdash Trilogy Set For Main Card
The third meeting between Aung La N Sang and Vitaly Bigdash will also happen on the main card.
La N Sang and Bigdash met twice in 2017, with both fighters gaining a win in their appearances. La N Sang then went on to be a reigning champ for numerous years, competing in many title fights from 2018 to 2019.
What makes the third meeting between La N Sang and Bigdash different is that it won’t be a title fight.
La N Sang lost his two belts recently, dropping both to headlining name de Ridder. He has since returned to the win column, defeating Leandro Ataides in July 2021.
This upcoming fight is Bigdash’s second since returning. His last win, a submission victory in December against Fan Rong, was his first appearance in nearly three years.
The main card is also scheduled to kick off with a kickboxing fight between Enriko Kehl and Tayfun Ozcan.
Eight Fights Set For Prelims
The preliminary card will include eight bouts in total.
In the highest-up fight on the prelims, WSOF and UFC veteran David Branch will make his ONE Championship debut against Leandro Ataides. News of Branch’s ONE Championship signing was first reported just last month.
In another debut, former GLORY Kickboxer and UFC fighter Guto Inocente will make his ONE Championship kickboxing debut against Bruno Susano.
Zebaztian Kadestam will attempt to snap a three-fight losing streak when facing promotional newcomer Valmir Da Silva.
After losing his last fight to Rodlek P.K. Saenchaimuaythaigym, Chris Shaw will return for a kickboxing fight against Vladimir Kuzmin.
In just one of two Muay Thai bouts on the card, Diandra Martin and Smilla Sundell will both make their first appearance in ONE.
Fighting for his first pro-MMA win, grappling ace Yuri Simoes will face undefeated Daniyal Zainalov. Simoes lost his pro debut in late 2020, dropping a decision to Fan Rong.
Both fighting for their first ONE kickboxing win, Yibu Jiduo and Daniel Puertas will collide on the prelims.
MMA will open the evening, as Rahul Raju and Drex Zamboanga are scheduled to compete in the opening bout.
