The past week has been quite busy with changes in the Bellator schedule. The promotion has recently announced a new card for March and three big fights for their Paris, France show in May.
This episode of the “Bellator Roundup” is here to cover it all.
Bellator 274 Loses Light Heavyweight Fight
This weekend’s Bellator 274 card has reportedly lost a fight between Christian Edwards and Kevin Haley.
Edwards was pulled from the fight after testing positive for COVID-19, per Nolan King of MMA Junkie.
Edwards was looking to return for the first time since suffering an upset loss to Ben Parrish last year. Haley, a CES veteran with an even record of six wins and six losses, was attempting to step in an MMA cage for the first time since July 2019.
Bellator 274 is expected to be 13 fights in total. The entire lineup can be read below.
Bellator Announces March Card In St. Louis
Bellator has announced 13 fights in total for a March 12th event at The Family Arena in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Four bouts were announced for it last week, with many more revealed on Tuesday.
In the main event, high-ranked featherweights Adam Borics and Mads Burnell will face off. Burnell, a former UFC fighter, will be searching for his fourth win since joining Bellator in 2020.
In the co-main event, veteran Phil Davis will meet Julius Anglickas. The matchup gives Anglickas a chance to bounce back from a loss he took against Vadim Nemkov last year.
Undefeated Johnny Eblen will get another big test on the main card, as he will face former title challenger John Salter at middleweight.
The opening bout of the main card will see rising prospect Jay Jay Wilson make his lightweight debut in a fight against Gadzhi Rabadanov.
Featherweight veterans Pam Sorenson and Cat Zingano are expected to be the top prelim of the show.
Former LFA Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Polizzi will fight for his third consecutive win when facing Jose Augusto Azevedo.
In a clash of two experienced Bellator fighters, Derek Anderson and Goiti Yamauchi have been paired for this card at lightweight.
Undefeated middleweight prospect Romero Cotton is expected to make his first appearance in over a year when facing Lance Wright.
Flyweight Diana Avsaragova will fight for her third Bellator victory when she meets former CFFC title challenger Ashley Deen.
Fighting for his sixth win since turning pro less than two years ago, Cody Law will face Johnny Soto.
Riding the momentum of a highlight-reel flying knee knockout, Roman Faraldo has been matched against Kelvin Rayford.
Returning to Bellator for the first time since 2018, Jordan Howard will meet Trevor Ward at bantamweight.
And the show will kick off with a welterweight bout between Dan Busch and Josh Augustine.
Romero vs. Manhoef Among Three New Additions To Paris Card
It was announced last week that former UFC title challenger Yoel Romero will face Melvin Manhoef in the co-main event of Bellator’s return to Paris, France in May. More details on that bout can be read here.
Along with that fight, two more bouts were confirmed.
The extensive winning streak of Soren Bak will be put to the test when he faces Saul Rogers. Rogers will also enter the fight with some momentum, as his last bout was a victory over Georgi Karakhnayan.
Both attempting to come back from an unsuccessful appearance in their last Bellator outing, lightweights Yves Landu and Gavin Hughes will fight.
