Illness Forces Marcin Tybura Out of UFC 273 Fight Against Jairzinho Rozenstruick

UFC’s April 9th card will proceed without a heavyweight bout between Marcin Tybura and Jairzinho Rozenstruick.

Tybura had to withdraw from his booking due to illness, per an announcement made by the promotion Friday. The fight was scheduled to take place on the prelims for UFC 273 at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, USA.

Both Rozenstruick and Tybura made weight for their fight on Friday morning before the bout was thrown out. It is not known at the moment if a fight between Tybura and Rozenstruick will be re-booked for a new date.

Tybura was looking to bounce back from a loss he took last year against Alexander Volkov. Before then, he had picked up five consecutive wins between 2020 and 2021.

Rozenstruick’s previous appearance was also a loss, dropping a decision to Curtis Blaydes in September 2021.

UFC 273 is now scheduled to include 12 fights in total. Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski is set to face The Korean Zombie in the main event of the card.
