Two big matchups have recently been reported for UFC’s June 25th event. These bouts are joining an event that doesn’t have a confirmed location at the moment.
Undefeated Rakhmonov To Face Magny
Undefeated welterweight prospect Shavkat Rakhmonov will get a tough test in his next booking, as he will meet veteran Neil Magny in June. Mike Bohn and Nolan King of MMA Junkie confirmed the matchup on Thursday.
Rakhmonov has picked up three wins since joining the UFC roster in 2020, with all of his performances finishing in either the first or second rounds. His last fight was in February, where he scored a first-round finish win against Carlston Harris.
Magny, a UFC vet of nearly an entire decade, is entering his next booking on a two-fight winning streak. He appeared last month against Max Griffin, defeating him via split decision.
Curtis vs. Vieira Booked
Middleweights Chris Curtis and Rodolfo Vieira have been matched for June, per Damon Martin of MMA Fighting.
Curtis is coming off a highly successful 2021 that saw him pick up numerous wins and join the UFC roster.
After scoring four victories on the regional scene, he made his UFC debut in November 2021. He won in this short-notice opportunity, stopping Phil Hawes in the first round with strikes. Curtis then returned just a month later to stop Brendan Allen on a “Fight Night” card.
He was scheduled to start his 2022 with an April booking against Dricus Du Plessis, although that fight did not end up happening.
Vieira’s last fight was a submission win against Dustin Stoltzfus last year. That victory put him back into the win column after suffering his first pro loss to Anthony Hernandez at UFC 258.
