A long-awaited rematch at bantamweight has been booked.
The second meeting between UFC Bantamweight Champion Julianna Pena and former long-time titleholder Amanda Nunes is set for UFC 277 on July 30th, per an announcement made by the promotion Saturday.
The fight is joining a card that is scheduled to take place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, USA.
Pena became champion last year when she pulled off one of the biggest upsets in recent MMA history. She ended the lengthy reign of Nunes in December, scoring a second-round rear naked choke submission victory.
The fight marked the first time that Nunes lost a fight since 2014. She defended her 135-pound belt five times since earning it in 2016, and became a champion up at featherweight along the way as well.
Along with the opportunity to defend her belt for the first time, Pena will be fighting for her third consecutive win.
UFC 277 currently has two title fights booked for it, including an interim flyweight title bout. Here is an updated look at the card:
Bout 7: Julianna Pena (11-4) vs. Amanda Nunes (21-5) (UFC Bantamweight Championship)
Bout 6: Brandon Moreno (19-6-2) vs. Kai Kara-France (24-9) (Vacant Interim UFC Flyweight Championship)
Bout 5: Derrick Lewis (26-9) vs. Sergei Pavlovich (15-1) (Heavyweight)
Bout 4: Magomed Ankalaev (17-1) vs. Anthony Smith (36-16) (Light Heavyweight)
