ONE Championship revealed their full June 3rd card recently, although it had a notable omission.
A previously announced fight between ONE 125-pound Champion Joshua Pacio and former UFC fighter Jarred Brooks has been removed from their upcoming card.
Per a statement provided by the promotion Wednesday, a “scheduling conflict” forced the fight off the card.
The show will now instead be headlined by a Muay Thai bout between Tawanchai P.K.Saenchaimuaythaigym and Niclas Larsen. The fight is being marketed as a “title eliminator,” meaning the winner would be next in line to face Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy.
It will headline a card from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.
Tawanchai picked up a notable stoppage win early this year, scoring a first-round finish against Saemapetch Fairtex. The fight was his second win for ONE through three appearances.
Larsen will be making his ONE debut in the fight. He is a GLORY Kickboxing Veteran, having fought in that promotion six times from 2013 to 2017.
Four MMA Bouts Set For Main Card
A total of four MMA fights are currently scheduled to take place on the main card of ONE’s June 3rd event.
In the top MMA fight on the card, Kwon Won Il and Fabricio Andrade will meet.
Kwon is currently on a strong three-fight winning streak, with all of his victories coming via stoppage. His last fight was late last year when he scored a second-round finish against Kevin Belingon.
Andrade has yet to lose through four appearances in ONE. He had a quick performance in his last fight, stopping Jeremy Pacatiw in a minute-and-a-half with strikes.
Reece McLaren will make his return next month, facing Xie Wei in a 135-pound bout. McLaren’s last appearance came in April 2021, when he lost a decision to Yuya Wakamatsu.
Xie is on a strong run right now, having won a trio of fights in ONE.
Lower on the main card, MMA veterans Kairat Akhmetov and Tatsumitsu Wada will meet as well. Akhmetov will be fighting to keep a four-fight streak of wins alive in that appearance.
The main card will also include a heavyweight bout between Marcus Almeida and Simon Carson. That bout, along with a kickboxing fight between Rade Opacic and Guto Inocente, were moved to this card after COVID-19 protocols forced it off ONE 157 this month.
