Tabatha Ricci has received a change in opponent for her October 1st UFC booking, now being lined up to face veteran Jessica Penne.
Ricci was originally scheduled to fight Cheyanne Vlismas at strawweight, but plans changed after Vlismas withdrew due to personal reasons. Dama de Ferro MMA first reported the change, with additional information coming from a report by Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie.
The new pairing is expected to be part of a “Fight Night” card from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Ricci will be aiming to keep her current momentum going. While the 27-year-old suffered a loss in her UFC debut, she has since turned around and earned two consecutive wins in the promotion.
Ricci’s last victory was in May when she went the distance against Polyana Viana for a unanimous decision result.
Penne will be fighting to bounce back from a recent decision loss against Emily Ducote. Before then, she had a pair of wins in the UFC cage.
