Parker Porter has been given a new opponent for his upcoming booking. The heavyweight vet is now expected to face undefeated UFC newcomer Slim Trabelsi, per Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
The new matchup is joining UFC 280, which is expected to take place on October 22nd from the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
Porter was originally scheduled to face Hamdy Abdelwahab, who was coming off a successful UFC debut over Don’Tale Mayes. However, Abdelwahab has since withdrawn from his booking due to undisclosed reasons.
Trabelsi is entering the UFC with a flawless record of five wins as a pro. He is coming off a big regional scene win from earlier this month, defeating Azamat Muftillaev to become the first-ever Ares FC Heavyweight Champion.
Porter will be fighting to get back into the win column with his performance. He had a three-fight winning streak snapped in his last performance, getting submitted by Jailton Almeida in May.
UFC 280 is currently set to be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev. Here’s how the show looks currently:
