Rising featherweight Arnold Allen could get the biggest test of his career thus far next month.
A five-round main event matchup between Allen and veteran Calvin Kattar for October 29th has been verbally agreed upon, per a report from Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
The fight is joining a card that doesn’t have a set location currently.
The fight marks Allen’s first main event appearance as a UFC fighter. He has put together a flawless record since first joining the promotion in 2015, having scored nine consecutive wins since then.
Allen picked up a finish win in his last appearance, stopping Dan Hooker in the first round with strikes in March.
Kattar is a tough opponent for Allen, bringing recent success and experience in five-round fights with him in this bout.
Kattar notably ended the campaign of featherweight Giga Chikadze earlier this year, beating him on scorecards in the main event of a January card.
The 11-fight UFC vet enters this bout with the goal of returning to the win column. His last appearance, which came in the main event of a card in June, saw him lose a close split decision to Josh Emmett.
