Former UFC Featherweight Champion Germaine de Randamie is expecting her first child.
De Randamie announced her pregnancy in a recent social media post: “We can finally scream it from the top of our lungs ‘WE ARE PREGNANT,'” she said on Instagram.
De Randamie, 38, said that her child is expected for March 2023.
De Randamie is best known for becoming UFC’s first-ever featherweight champion. She earned the belt in 2017, defeating Holly Holm via unanimous decision to earn the vacant belt.
She was later stripped of the title after refusing to take a bout against Cris Cyborg.
De Randamie has continued to compete on the UFC roster in recent years as a bantamweight, albeit on a less consistent schedule than most fighters.
Her last fight was in October 2020, when she scored a submission win over Julianna Pena. Before then, her last fight was a 2019 bantamweight title fight against Amanda Nunes, which she lost on scorecards.
