Just days after his most recent performance, Bo Nickal’s UFC debut has been set.
The middleweight prospect will face Jamie Pickett at UFC 282 on December 10th, per a report from Damon Martin of MMA Fighting. The fight is joining a card that will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Nickal was one of the biggest names to appear on the latest “Dana White’s Contender Series” season. He appeared twice during the 10-week series of cards and was finally signed to the UFC roster just earlier this week.
The former NCAA Division I wrestler picked up his first “Contender Series” victory in August, submitting Zack Borrego in just over a minute with a rear naked choke. That fight was only his second win since debuting in MMA.
While he wasn’t offered a UFC contract after that win, he was invited back onto the show just a few months later.
Nickal then returned this week, stopping Donovan Beard in 52 seconds with a triangle choke.
Nickal will now face Pickett, a 21-fight vet who is currently struggling.
Pickett’s UFC record is currently a negative two wins and four losses. He will try to snap a two-fight skid in this appearance, coming off losses to Kyle Daukaus and Denis Tiuliulin from earlier this year.
